B.I.G. wants to provide you with quality, expedient, and affordable legal services.

Bluegrass Innovation Group (B.I.G.) staff have worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies, a Fortune 10 company, and many startups and individual innovators.
There is a common theme regardless of cap-size and growth:
Everyone wants Quality, Affordable, and Expedient legal services.
Our objective is simple. We want to provide you with those Quality, Affordable, and Expedient legal services.
Meet the Founder, Christopher "Chris" Emerson, Esq.
That's me, Chris.
Attorney
A lot of Attorneys detach themselves from their life and their law practice. It's a convenient thing to do, and helps to compartmentalize aspects of each. Chris Emerson believes that most client legal matters will be effected by (if not evolve from) personal lives. Accordingly, instead of seeing the usual attorney profile picture with a pristine suit and a beige backdrop, Chris is happy to share a moment from his personal life. That being said, Chris understands that time is of the essence, and would like to share his background with you for determinations of whether B.I.G. is the best counsel for you.
Chris is from Central Kentucky, and didn't have much of an expectation or plan for going to college or becoming a lawyer. A state scholarship ("SEEK") allowed him to go to the local Elizabethtown Community and Technical College during his senior year of high-school, and that is when college came to the forefront. Chris worked at McDonald's as a cook, cashier and eventually technician while getting his associates degree. He eventually moved to Louisville, Kentucky to pursue his bachelors of electrical systems engineering technology while working as a contractor engineer at Ford's Kentucky Truck Plant and then an engineering supervisor at UPS.
Chris went to the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2022. He graduated early by taking summer classes while externing for free at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Years of experience working for boutique firms, "biglaw firms", and the USPTO have honed Chris's skills towards intellectual property (IP) and business development - which are wide-encompassing fields in and of themselves. Chris is currently the only attorney at B.I.G., and runs a general practice (e.g., Chris practices many different legal areas) to provide full-service for B.I.G. clients. The phrase "your network is your net-worth" may be a little exaggerated - but generally rings true. B.I.G.'s network is as robust as its' practice area, and if there is a job that Chris doesn't handle then he will almost certainly have a quality referral for you to promptly reach out to.
Chris is also a prolific legal writer and serves on the Kentucky Bar Association (KBA) IP Section as a Committee head and Chair-Elect for 2027. Writing legal articles not only keeps a legal mind sharp and up-to-date, but also provides free education for clients. Chris's article are never paywalled and are frequently published by non-profits such as the Kentucky Intellectual Property Alliance (KYIPA), and the KBA's Bench and Bar magazine. Feel welcome to check out recent legal posts below, in the B.I.G. blog section.
